10 years of thank-you’s

Anniversary event at Westminster auto shop attracts hundreds

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (Sept. 26, 2016) – For the 10th straight year, Lake Arbor Automotive & Truck recently thanked its growing list of customers by staging the biggest and best Customer Appreciation Day of the decade.

On a Saturday afternoon, when the shop would normally be closed, LAA Owner Dana TePoel and a dozen employees opened the doors for its annual festivities, with food, drink, entertainment, prizes, children’s activities, and a display of unusual cars.

“When we held our first Customer Appreciation Day in 2007, we never dreamed that the event would become such a regular, highly anticipated item on our customers’ calendars,” said TePoel. “We are so pleased and gratified, we almost feel compelled to have some kind of follow-up event where we can thank people for letting us say thank you.”

Mostly by coincidence, LAA expanded and renovated its building less than three months prior to its landmark Customer Appreciation event; and CA Day attendees happily enjoyed LAA’s new, easier-to-navigate kitchen.

Over the years, the crowd size has varied, depending upon weather and word of mouth, from about 150 to as many as 450 customers, family members, prospective customers, friends, and friends of friends. Everyone is welcome. For entertainment, LAA has had DJ’s and various local bands; but Boulder-based Face has become a regular of sorts, and it seemed only appropriate that LAA would bring Face back for the milestone 10th Annual CA Day.

“We recognize that our business growth is entirely attributable to all the customers who keep coming back for their vehicle’s repair and maintenance,” TePoel said. “That why we ‘Do the Right Thing’ for them – Everytime.“

Lake Arbor Auto also had four special prizes that TePoel gave away at random – a pair of iPads and a pair of flat-screen TV’s (40-inch Visio and 48-inch Roku). The winner of the car show was Lu Stoddard of Westminster with his 1940 Willys Americar.

By popular demand, the food menu has remained unvaried – featuring Grandma’s pulled pork sandwiches, along with hot dogs and hamburgers. The secret pulled pork recipe is the pride of the TePoel family, ranking right alongside the LAA shop itself.
