Lake Arbor Auto donates in celebration of Mother’s Day
WESTMINSTER, Colo. (May 6, 2025) – As everyone looking for a job these days knows, it’s not an easy task. It is especially challenging for a young, single mother.
Lake Arbor Automotive & Truck hopes to make life a bit easier for 21-year-old Yarisbely Reynoso as she searches for a new job in the retail industry with a 5-year-old daughter in tow. With support from Hope House Colorado, Reynoso is also pursuing a degree from Red Rocks Community College.
This is the eighth time in the last nine years (missing only for COVID) that Lake Arbor Auto has arranged to put a young single mother in a reliable automobile, either by donating the car, performing thousands of dollars of crucial repair, or both. In this case, the non-roadworthy car was one that Reynoso had picked up in the used car market, and Lake Arbor Auto performed $4,900 worth of repairs and maintenance.
“As cars are getting increasingly expensive, it is harder and harder for the young mothers at Hope House to arrange transportation for themselves and their kids, to work, school and daycare,” said Dana TePoel, owner of Lake Arbor Auto. “We hope we have helped a small amount over the last nine years, and we are proud to think that we have helped so many women get themselves on their feet.”
Reynoso has lived at Hope House for a year, and she is from Aurora. Her “new” car is a 2006 Infiniti with 225,000 miles. The vehicle needed an alignment, alternator belt, tensioner, front struts and repair to the airbag, just to name a few issues.
“So many generous donors like Lake Arbor Auto have helped our young women on their path to self-sufficiency, and we appreciate all the support,” said Jenny Macias, director of partnerships at Hope House. “This Mother’s Day donation from Lake Arbor Auto has become a very welcome event for our organization.”
