Water Pump Replacement

The crux of your vehicle’s cooling system is water pump, which transfers water from the radiator to the engine to keep your vehicle from overheating. These pumps often give out as a vehicle reaches around 100,000 miles, as bearings begin failing or the water pump begins to leak. Another common problem is a faulty “weep hole” on the pump, which is only a few millimeters in diameter. The weep hole is sealed by a gasket, but over time the gasket will erode, allowing coolant to begin dripping out. Once this begins you will need to replace the pump. The ASE certified mechanics at Lake Arbor Automotive & Truck can replace your water pump and ensure your vehicle doesn’t overheat and break down.

We may also be able to help extend the life of your water pump through regular maintenance. But ultimately, all water pumps reach their limit, and will need to be replaced.
