‘Way to Work’ benefits auto repair pros

Westminster’s Lake Arbor Auto revolutionizes shop schedule

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (Feb. 23, 2023) – Proving yet again that the “Right Thing” can have universal benefits, Lake Arbor Automotive & Truck has implemented a custom “flex” schedule for employees.

The LAA “Way to Work” program allows workers to determine for themselves the best way to resolve work-life conflicts. The workers propose their schedules to LAA management, and the balance-building begins. Although the program is relatively new, LAA Owner Dana TePoel says he has already seen the enthusiasm it has generated within the ranks, and he believes the WTW Program will ultimately help retain valuable employees.

“At the end of the day, I anticipate that our employees will be more productive,” TePoel said. “For example, if you can eliminate personal distractions by arriving late twice a week, that’s fine; just so long as you put in a full work week by making it up at some other point.”

Workers can build their schedules around important personal commitments such as classes, ongoing health needs, coordination with other family members’ schedules, and so forth.

Lake Arbor Auto, celebrating its anniversary of 30 years in business, has built its success on a firm commitment to ethics, with the slogan: “We do the Right Thing for you every time.” TePoel said this evolution to a flex work schedule was clearly the Right Thing to do for employees, especially those with personal commitments to dependent family members.

“The family has to be top priority,” TePoel said. “Our Way to Work Program will also allow employees to take better care of themselves, making them available for work on a more regular basis, at the most productive levels.”
